Slater Week in Review & Look Forward

Hello Slater nation!

Last week saw Slater Nation in lots of action!  We had some outstanding victories in OT and Double OT, we had close games against Division one opponents, that we fell a little short in, but at the end of the week, Slater Nation looked strong!

Field Hockey
The Field Hockey team played a tough, Division one opponent, vs. Rutland High.  The game was very competitive, with both teams having shots on goal, with Rutland sneaking one through towards the end of the game.  Our Lady slaters played a great game, just coming up a bit short!  Great Game LADIES!

Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team, played last Saturday vs. a strong Vergnees team.  The game was a physical one, that saw both goalies see lots of Shots.  But Senior Goalie, Sam Eaton and his team came out with a hard fought, Overtime victory.  Garrett Gonzalez got the Slaters on the board first with a penalty kick, and then Austin Brannock finished the game off, with a winning goal in OT for the Slaters!

Girls Soccer

The Girls Varsity Soccer Team played an equally thrilling game vs. Long Trail High School, at Long Trail!  The Girls came out with a DOUBLE OVERTIME VICTORY!  The first goal Goal was scored by Abby Ferrara with a nice kick in Goal, and then the next two goals came from Julia Carone, with the last one winning the game in Double OT!  Congrats ladies!

Cross Country

Last week, Hallie Coloutti, Running in her 2nd ever cross country race, came in 1st place by a 45 second margin!  This is a phenomenal feat!  On the boys side, Joe Ouimet, came in 8th place in over 45 runners, in the MVL race!  Way to go SLATERS!

Drama Club/Break a Leg Society

The Drama club will continue to hold auditions this week for their fall production, please see Mr. Tom Smith for more information, and if you are interesting in helping in any way for this production, sign up!

Football
The football team went to Mt. Abe High on Saturday, and started a little slow, but played Slater Football, to pull out a 56-22 VICTORY!  Jordan Phillips had 145 yards rushing on the day, along with QB Ryan Alexander, connecting to Lucas Czarnecki for three scores and then to Dylan Czachor for another!

Great job Slater Football!
