Slater Week in Review and Look ahead 11/13/15
Hello Slater Nation!
The Fall season has passed and next week, starting Monday, we start the Winter Season!
As a reminder, if I do not have all paperwork, (Physicals, Concussion forms, and Permission slips to play) you can not participate on Monday. I need these forms by Monday morning! If there are questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email at 802-265-2047 or pcotton@arsu.org.
Last week, there were lots of celebration in regards to the fall season, we had lots of banquets to celebrate great seasons, had by all of our Fall Teams! Congrats to our cheerleaders, boys and girls soccer teams, football team, Cross country and Field Hockey Teams!
Fenway Park Spartan Race
Last Sunday, 11/7/15, more than 20 FHUHS students in the adventure club, led by Mr. Williams, along with Mrs. Phillips, and Mr. Greenliese, went to Fenway Park and competed in the Spartan Race, in Boston MA. Our student completed the course and had fun doing so! Great job Slater Nation!
Veterans Day Assembly
ON Tuesday, 11/10/15, Our school honored our Vets in an Amazing Veterans Day ceremony led by Principal Brett Blanchard! THe guest speaker was Sgt. First Class Kevin Eaton! Mr. Eaton was a 1990 graduate of Fair Haven Union High School and shortly after graduation joined the United States Marine Corps. During his tour in the Marines, Mr. Eaton Assisted in the rescue and rebuilding of New York, after the 9/11 attacks. A truly great man, Mr. Eaton came back to Vermont after his Corps service was over and joined the Vermont National Guard! Slater Nation Salutes Mr. Eaton and all the Vets that have served and protected our country!
Frances La Placa Dedication Concert
Next week, on Wednesday 11/18/15, The Band and Chorus will be dedicating a concert here at FHUHS in the Gym, starting at 7PM. The concert is to honor the memory of a true matriarch, hero and inspiring woman who positively impacted the Fair Haven Community as well as the State of Vermont. Please come and join the Slater Community in the Frances La Placa Dedication Concert!
