Slater February & March in Review & Look Ahead!
3/7/16

Hello Slater Nation!

The month of February and into March, bought lots of joy, love, enthusiasm and fun to Slater Nation!  Our students and staff continue to show what an awesome, inspiring and giving community this is!

In the last month, our students have had some incredible accomplishments doing things that they are skilled at, but most importantly, things that they absolutely love!

Logan, the Ice Fishing Derby Champion!

Our own Logan Bathalon loves to hunt and fish, and has been doing it since he was a little Slater!  He has turned this into a passion, and has gotten really good at it!  Recently Logan competed in the Champlain Valley Hardwater tournament in Hortonia, Vermont!  Logan won over $780.00 in prize money!  Congrats Logan, well deserved!

Scholars Bowl vs. Rutland High

Our Scholars Bowl team, consisting of FHUHS students, Charlie Cacciatore, Trevor Reck, Zachary Caraballo and Isaac Nichols; competed against a tough Rutland High School team, in the first round of the Rutland area tournament, on March 3, 2016.  After a close early round, Fair Haven pulled away with over a 100 point victory, propelling them to the second round!  Congrats!  The team will face Proctor high school in the next round next week!

Bowling for FHUHS

Last week, 2/27/16, the VPA had its first annual State of Vermont high School individual bowling competition at Champlain Lanes in South Burlington!  The top 32 bowlers in high school from around the State were selected!  From Fair Haven Union High School, Cody Seaver, and Jordan Phillips were two of the 32 bowlers!  After more than 8 rounds of Bowling, Jordan Phillips came out in third place, and bowled an over 200 average!  Congrats Jordan and Cody Seaver!
