Castleton Honors Music Festival
Friday night, January 22, the Casella Theater at Castleton State University was packed with people in a frenzy of anticipation and excitement waiting to experience the sixth annual High School Honors Festival.  After finding seats, meeting up with old friends and silencing cell phones, the performance was about to begin.  The performance began with the auditioned Chamber Singers featuring students enrolled at Castleton University and directed by Dr. Sherrill Blodget, the Director of Choral Activities at Castleton! To bring this amazing concert together, Vicki Matteson, the Festival Coordinator, arranged for 23 different schools who sent 212 students from around Vermont to participate in this one day festival. In just 7 short hours, the band and chorus were able to blend, meet new people, and truly make music together.  One of those schools was Fair Haven Union High school, where over 20 of our music students shared their gifts to bring an end to this wonderful concert!

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team has been equally to the task of being hot as of late.  the Boys, currently sit at 10-6, which right now is good enough for 4th place in the Division 2 rankings!  The team has beaten a pair of Division 1 teams, and has gelled quite well this year!  Coach Bob Prenevost has his team playing great basketball at the end of the season.  Their quest to Barre is within their reach!
