Hello Slater nation!

The past few weeks have been busy, and saw our Slater’s involved in lots of different functions, sports and events!  Here are some highlights from SLATER NATION!

La Placa Dedication Concert

On November 18, 2015, Eddie Wilkin, with all his musical talents and gifts, shared them with a wide range of community members and students to dedicate a new piano to FHUHS and Mrs. La PLaca.  The concert featured performances on the piano, and one guitar solo, and voice performances from students and community members.  Band Teacher Janeea Choiniere, Erik Brown, Andrea Tester Charlie Cacciatore, Briley Blackbird, Lauren Langlois and Eric Ray all gave memorable performances.  What a great night of music and sharing the gift of music!

Winter Softball
With softball season, over three months away, we have some dedicated ladies, who love the sport so much that they are participating in a Winter Softball league in Shelburne, Vermont!  Hunter Buxton, Abby Ferrara, Lizzy Muratorri & Sophia hadeka are playing for the Vermont Cougars, and sharpening their skills for Slater Nation for the upcoming season!  Great job, ladies!
ALL STATE SOCCER

Congrats to Sam Eaton and Garrett Gonzalez for making the Vermont Division 2 All State Soccer Team, representing FHUHS!  This is a tremendous honor and shows
that their hard work, and working as team players with a great season pays off!  Congrats, gents!

“LOST in Yonkers”

Congrats to Mr. Tom Smith and the Break a Leg Society for a wonderful production of Lost in Yonkers last week!  The cast did a splendid  job with great reviews from the public and the Fair Haven Community!  We are very grateful and proud of our Drama students, and thank you so much for sharing your love of theatre and your gifts with Slater Nation!

Winter Concert!

The Annual FHUHS Winter band/Chorus concert will take place this Wednesday night, 12/9/15 at 6:30 PM in the FHUHS Gym.  Please come out and support our awesome music department, as they share their musical gifts and talents with us!  I have had the pleasure of sharing the halls with the music department, and their sound soothes my soul, daily!  We are very lucky to have such a wonderful music department!

Boys Basketball

Congrats to Coach Willie Phillips and Coach P for their opening home, regular season Victory over Brattleboro!  Both teams played great, hustle oriented boys basketball!  Great team play, boys!

Spread the love week!

MR. Bruce, along with, Shine is  asking anyone who is or has ever been a part of Slater Nation (parent, grandparent, alumni, teachers, coaches, community members, students, etc.) to share anything positive they have to say about anyone or anything in the Greater Slater community (once again, past or present) this week. They can do this through social media posts or handwritten notes, which is where the index cards come in.

Thanks to Allison Irons for her great Pictures, weekly!
